Geneseo. 1835. The Hartford House was built in 1835 by James S. Wadsworth, the younger son of the pioneer James Wadsworth who settled Geneseo in 1790. James became a Brevet Major General in the Union Army; he was mortally wounded at The Battle of the Wilderness. His statue stands on Wadsworth Ave. at Gettysburg; a replica of that statue now stands at the Livingston County Courthouse just outside the gates to his historic 200+ acre estate which is still inhabited by his descendants. The Garden Suite Bed and Breakfast is on the second floor of the secluded south wing of the National Historic Landmark, overlooking a walled English garden. On-site Har Tru & Lawn Tennis courts & Horseback riding.

The Carlton Hotel   - http://www.carltonhotelny.com
Manhattan, New York. 1904. The Carlton hotel originally opened as Hotel Seville in early 20th century New York City as a tribute to the ornate elegance of old New York. Opening in 1904, just months before the opening of the subway, Hotel Seville was one of several hotels in the early part of the century to transform the neighborhood’s low-scale blocks into a chic, high-rise avenue. Now, over 100 years later, the hotel completed a multi million dollar transformation by world-renowned architect David Rockwell infusing the hotel with an ultra-modern spirit while preserving the design-forward elements of the hotel’s historical aesthetic.

This historic, luxury New York City hotel is located in Manhattan’s emerging Madison Square Park district, at 88 Madison Avenue. The Carlton is conveniently located in mid-town within walking distance of the Empire State building, Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, the Flatiron district and Grand Central Station.

OHEKA Castle, Hotel & Estate   - http://www.oheka.com
New York. 1914. Financier Otto Hermann Kahn built OHEKA Castle. At the time of its construction, the French-style chateau was, & still is today, the 2nd largest private residence ever built in America. After Otto Kahn died in 1934, the estate changed hands several times, serving as a retreat for NY sanitation workers, & a government training school for Merchant Marine radio operators & Eastern Military Academy. After the school went bankrupt 30 years later, OHEKA stood abandoned, except by vandals who set more than 100 fires in 5 years. In 1984, developer Gary Melius purchased OHEKA & the remaining 23 acres of the estate & began restoration. With 32 guestrooms & suites, OHEKA is a member Small Luxury Hotels of the World & is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. OHEKA remains today a symbol of the history of America & a monument to the Gold Coast of Long Island.
