Estes Park, CO, 1909. The Stanley is the hotel that inspired the novel The Shining. Fully restored and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. If you're looking for ghosts this is considered one of the best places to find one. One of the more famous grand hotels. The hotel that The Shining movie was based on are The Ahwahnee in California (interior shots) and the Timberline Lodge in Oregon (exterior shots.)
